There are so many lifestyle apps out there, but finding the right one for you is very important. Everyone has a different kind of taste for apps that can organise your life to an easier one. I have been searching for a very long time for those apps to complete my life. I have downloaded and deleted so many apps until I have found the right ones, which I use on a daily basis. Check out bellow which apps they are!
1. CALM
This app is a great way to get your mind relaxed. I use this app to meditate every day. It has a lot of different options, depending on what you need that day. There are meditation sessions for focusing, sleeping, happiness, calmness, stress, self-esteem, gratitude, forgiveness, anxiety etc. Most of these are included in the subscription version, however, the free option still has a lot of features that can help you to take a load off your mind. You can set the length as well as the background music to your liking.
If you ever need a quick breather, it also has a function where you can just have deep breaths to calm you down when needed. The app will tell you when to breath in and out, and this can be adjusted as well - depending on how long you want the breaths to be.
There's a new function to this app, which is for helping you to get to sleep called, sleep stories. They have put in some short stories that you can listen to before bed so all your thoughts would go away and make you sleep better. It is just like having a bedtime story before bed, but it is for adults. ;-)
2. iDRATED
I try to drink as much water as I can, but sometimes I forget and then I end up having a headache from dehydration. This makes me want to just down a pint of water at once when in reality, I should be drinking it in moderation. Being hydrated is very important, so when I found this app, I was very excited to use it.
This app calculates from your body weight to see how much water you should be drinking per day. Of course, you can change that if you prefer to. I have changed it as I wanted to make sure I drink as much as possible. I've set my goal to 92oz / 2.6litres per day in total. Some day I achieve it, on some days I don't, but with this app, I get a reminder when I need to have a glass of water so I won't forget it ever again.
You can set the time in between the hours you would like to be reminded to drink some water and it splits it up for you so you will have an equal amount of time in between your water intakes. If you miss a glass, then it recalculates the time and so on and so on.
A glass of water is 8oz / 0.2. When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is have a glass of water with some lemon juice in it. After that, I get my reusable water bottle with a fruit infuser in it and drink that all day. Once it finishes, I fill it up again. I only need to drink 4 of those to reach my goal each day, plus the glass of water at the beginning of my day. The bottle I use can hold 21oz / 600ml water.
If you're not one for drinking a lot of water, then you need to download this app onto your phone. The app only costs 99p.
Stay hydrated!
3. DOWN DOG
In the past few months, I have been trying to get into doing yoga. I have tried out some apps as well as watched videos on YouTube, however, I just couldn't find the right session for my liking. And when I did, I would do the same session over and over and get bored of it.
This app allows you to have a different yoga session every day. You just have to put in the type of session you want, the level and the length and it combines a different yoga session for each time. It is like having a yoga class in your own home. The woman tells you everything you need to do and the app also provides good background music. You can skip songs if you don't like that particular tune or pick the playlist you'd like to have with your workout. I find this app very useful and does exactly what I have been searching for.
4. FAMILY ORGANIZER - CALENDAR PLANNER
I have always been a person who needs to write everything down in a notebook or a calendar. I had an organiser that I have carried nearly everywhere, but sometimes I wasn't able to because it didn't fit in my bag or just forgot it at home. This made me start to write things in my notes and calendar on my phone, but this just made everything disorganised and scattered all over the place. So I decided to find a good app which will allow me to do everything in one place, and that's when I found this bad boy.
Inside this app, you can connect the phone's calendar to the app's calendar, just in case you have any birthdays or events saved in there already. You can sync the app to your family member's phone very easily. The whole family can use this and see who's doing what and you can select the member of the family for different events.
It also allows you to have a to-do list, journal, shopping list, recipes book, and photos. The photos you can to add to your journal, recipes or even just save tickets in there.
This app is my most used app on my phone, as every morning I do myself a to-do list and check my events for the day. When I have some free time, I like to plan out my food intake for the next few days, so that way I will have a proper shopping list ready as well as recipes for those meals. The journal I tend to use for my notes, so I know everything I need is in one app and I won't have to go and look for individual apps on my phone to see what I need to do and what I wanted to check out.
5. VANILLA BEAN
I've seen a lot of apps out there that can help you to find a good restaurant, however, this app doesn't only do that, but gives you the option of choosing the right one for your need. Within this app, you can choose between the options of vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, organic, local ingredients, etc. I find that this is very good because there are so many restaurants to chose from where ever you are and not everyone knows that those places offer these options to their customers. You'd be surprised if you knew how many places have vegan or gluten-free options.
After the cinema or a drink, if you fancy dinner somewhere nearby, you can just put in the filter what you're after and it will show you the nearest restaurant that can serve you what you're after.
It's pretty simple, free and helpful!
