Dental hygiene is as important as anything else. I wanted to try out a few products that were natural, cruelty-free and vegan. Keeping your teeth is really important, but it is also important to use products that can benefit your health as well as the environment.
Over the past 4-5 months, I have been experimenting with dental products so you won't have to. I tried out different types of mouthwash, toothpaste, floss, and toothbrush. I have gathered the few that either really didn't work or the ones that really did work!

My absolute favourite toothpaste was the EcoDenta brand. I have tried out a few toothpaste from this brand and they all worked very well. I thought that the black one was the best one that worked the best and gave the results that I was looking for - it kept my teeth clean throughout the day and at the same time it was whitening too. While brushing, it seemed a bit disturbing to look at myself in the mirror, as my teeth were black from the charcoal toothpaste, but at the end, it looked very clean and healthy.

Jason's toothpaste really didn't work for me. I have tried two different ones, and my teeth were feeling clean for a few hours but it started to feel gross after a while. I needed to brush my teeth throughout the day (at least 4 times - not including the ones in the morning and in the evening). The brand is very popular in the natural/organic world, however, these specific products did not work for me. I have used other Jason's products and they were fine.
After a week of using it, my teeth didn't get any whiter, in fact, they started to go yellower. Of course, coffee and cigarettes didn't help, but for those of us who smoke and drink coffee, it is necessary to have a toothpaste that will reduce the stains from these things. And this one sadly didn't.
Flossing after brushing is needed to keep your gums healthy. Finding a good floss isn't that hard to do, as they basically do the same thing. However, I wanted to have one that won't cut into my gums. There are some floss' that are like blades cutting into the gums, but this is very soft and cranberry flavoured. Yumm!

After flossing it is needed to kill all the leftover bacteria in your mouth and to keep your gums healthy.
The Organii mouthwash was citrus flavoured and I really enjoyed the taste, although, I didn't see any special results from this mouthwash. I won't say it was bad because it wasn't, but I feel like I have had different mouthwash products that done a better job leaving my mouth fresh.
The other mouthwash I wanted to mention was from EcoDenta. As I have said before, the toothpaste I have tried from this brand worked very well, so I wasn't surprised the mouthwash would too. It left a nice and clean feel on my teeth and had a long lasting, fresh aftertaste as well. Buy it here.
I changed my toothbrush to an Eco-Friendly bamboo brush. It comes in various colours to suit everyone's taste. I stumbled onto this on the Humble Brush website and then I realised that they sell it at Holland and Barrett's as well.
It is helping the environment by being made out of bamboo. This way it can be decomposed easier than a plastic toothbrush. Did you know that it takes 300 months for 1 toothbrush to decompose? There are so many articles on this, so make sure to check up on that.
